Sample Collection Units

All analyses should preferably be performed on an empty stomach, although, in some cases, fasting may not be necessary. However, not fasting can cause analytical interference that compromises the quality of results. As such, fasting is recommended as a general rule. Exceptions are urgent analyses or those for which the physician waives the requirement.

On the Analysis and Collection Units page, find the 'Search Analysis' button at the bottom. On the next page, write the name of the analysis to be performed or identify it alphabetically.

After selecting the desired analysis, check if there is any indication in the Recommendations and/or Collection Instructions fields.

1. From the menu, choose 'Analyses and Laboratories > Analyses and Harvesting Stations';
   
   
2. On the page 'Analyses and Harvesting Stations', at the end, find the button 'Search for Analysis';
   
   
3. On the new page, type the name of the analysis to perform or identify the analysis, in alphabetical order;
   
   
4. After choosing the desired analysis, confirm if in the fields 'Recommendations' and/or 'Harvesting Instructions' there is any indication.

No, there are analyses that can only be performed in a specific laboratory or in the central laboratory.

1. From the menu, choose 'Analyses and Laboratories > Analyses and Harvesting Stations';

3. On the new page, type the name of the analysis to perform or identify the analysis, in alphabetical order;
   
   
4. After choosing the desired analysis, confirm if in the fields 'Recommendations' and/or 'Collection Instructions' there is any indication of 'Collection done at the laboratory' or 'done at the central laboratory';

It is possible to carry out some simple clinical analyses without having a medical prescription. However, without a medical prescription, your insurance will not cover the procedure, so you will have to pay for the clinical analyses out of pocket.
If you do not present a medical prescription, you will need to sign a consent in which you state you are responsible the clinical analyses without a medical prescription.

Choose in the menu 'Analyses and Laboratories > Sample Collection Units;

2. On the page 'Analyses and Harvesting Stations', at the end, find the button 'Search for Analysis';
   
   
3. On the new page, type the name of the analysis to perform or identify the analysis, in alphabetical order;
   
   
4. Choose the desired analysis and, in the field 'Response time (working days)', you will have an indication of the maximum number of working days that the referred analysis takes to be concluded;
   
   
5. In the analyses produced in programmed series, it may happen that you receive the results before the maximum time foreseen for its execution.
   
   

The results are ready for collection at the post where you performed them or will be sent to your 'Private Area' and email.

Note: to have full access to the functionalities of the App / Personal Area (which includes access to the results of your clinical tests), you must first validate your account physically in one of our medical clinics.
