Nursing

The care provided by the Nursing Service can be autonomous or interdependent (via physician referral), namely assessment of vital signs, wound treatment, or administration of medication, whether by injection or orally. It is the responsibility of the nursing team to evaluate each individual case, to monitor the treatment plan, and to ensure a referral to the adequate medical specialties. At JCS Group, several wound treatments are available, namely post-surgical dressings, dressings for pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds with appropriate fittings for the situation, as well as negative pressure and collagen dressings. There is also a home nursing service, which allows the client to receive healthcare comfortably at home, upon request in person, by telephone, or through the app/website, and according to the presentation of a medical prescription, should there be one.

The nurse is part of the multidisciplinary team that performs specific procedures by areas of medical specialty, such as laser therapies, biopsies or removal of skin lesions, obstetric ultrasounds, urological diagnostic procedures, interventional imaging techniques, among others. A multidisciplinary team is present to ensure the safety, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the procedures performed. For example, in Gastroenterology, the nursing team accompanies the client throughout the process, from scheduling to the nursing consultation, reception and follow-up on the day of the exam, as well as the 48-hour post-exam monitoring.

The Nursing team is available to provide care instruct their patients in certain health topics throughout the different stages of life, from childhood to old age, through differentiated technical assessments, monitoring and clarification of doubts. Follow-up by a multidisciplinary team (with a physician and a nurse, among others) is an essential factor for improving quality of life.

The nursing team participates in the entire surgical process. When a surgical proposal is initiated, the first contact of the surgical team goes through the nursing team, who then relays all relevant information for the surgery. On the day of the surgery, the nursing team is responsible for guiding and supporting the patient, from intake to discharge, as well as in relation to the at-home post-operative care. In the first month after discharge, the team follows up remotely to ensure that the entire post-surgical process goes as expected.
